PPAF's Presidio Dance Theatre is moving. The new prominent location on the Presidio's historic Main Post, positions us to become a world model for performing arts collaboration. Our facility will be named, Presidio Performing Arts Center, consisting of a state-of-the art multi-use theatre for performance, production rehearsals and special events; Green Room/Studio B and Children's Rehearsal Studio C; Gift Shoppe; Artistic Offices; Business Offices, Library/Conference Room; and Costume Storage.
We are very excited about the opportunity to create a cultural impact within America's only urban National Park and beyond.
We invite you to facilitate the move, by helping us raise capital funds. "Raising the Barre" Capital Campaign ($200,000) will cover the installation of dance flooring/marly, mirrors, barres, sound systems, theatrical lighting, media system and finishing. All Spring/Summer Season donors will be added to the "RAISING THE BARRE" plaque which will be prominently displayed in the new Presidio Performing Arts Center's lobby entrance. All donations $10,000 and above include naming opportunities. Click here to make a donation today! |

Sherene Melania, Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer of Presidio Dance Theatre presents DANCING ACROSS CULTURES on May 21, 2010 at 7pm

San Francisco Weekly named Presidio Dance Theatre "The Best Dance Company in San Francisco for 2009."
DANCING ACROSS CULTURES™ is the signature production of Presidio Dance Theatre. It is a full-length performance of national dances which reflect diverse cultural and folkloric traditions which have been preserved and passed down through the generations. Our Artistic Director Sherene Melania is the Principal Choreographer for this production.
2010 DANCING ACROSS CULTURES™ is a perfect expose of San Francisco's enchanting multi-cultural mosaic.
DANCING ACROSS CULTURES™ provides not only an artistic bridge, but an emotional bridge to diverse worlds that audiences can easily dance across - to understand, master, and thereby enrich their lives. The purpose of DANCING ACROSS CULTURES™ is to deepen impressions and knowledge of people, culture and art. We believe that cultural exchange is the best way to achieve mutual understanding, friendship and peace, promoting the enrichment and flourishing of national art and the development of world culture. It is an eloquent means of joining together performing arts and social justice.
