Presidio Dance Theatre International Tour To Russia - Summer Tour

Presidio Dance Theatre was invited by the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture to perform in the famed White Nights Festival, 300th Anniversary of Tsarskoye Selo in June 2008. The company was hosted by the Royal School of Imperial Ballet and performed at the Palaces of the Tsars and the Pushkin International Festival, where 22,000 Russians attended the festivities!
Excursions included the Mariinsky Theatre, home of the Kirov Ballet; Vaganova School and Museum, Hermitage Museum, Pavlovsk Palace, Peterhof Palace; and Catherine Palace, where the group enjoyed a sumptuous garden party Welcome to Russia!. The Ministry of Culture provided English-speaking educational tour guides and sponsored all entrances for dancers and accompanying parents. It was the trip of a lifetime! Anna Korotysheva, Presidio Dance Theatre Artistic Consultant

Anna Korotysheva meets with Presidio Dance Theatre's Artistic Director Sherene Melania to plan Spring Season 2009. Since 2005, Ms. Korotysheva has been working with Presidio Dance Theatre in all aspects of creative consultation. She is a dance education expert in Vaganova pedagogy and classical choreography. She will oversee Presidio Dance Theatre's spring costume designs and construction, and will also contribute to the 2009 Dancing Across Culturestm study guide for students. Recently retired from a lifelong career with the prestigious Kirov Ballet (22 seasons!) Anya is now living in Finland with her musician husband, Jerry Hoffman. She is looking forward to working with Finnish children, sharing her knowledge of the dance and arts enrichment. Anna enjoys watching the progress of Presidio Dance Theatre students!
