Presidio Dance Theatre International Tour To Russia - Summer Tour

Presidio Dance Theatre was invited by the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture to perform in the famed White Nights Festival, 300th Anniversary of Tsarskoye Selo in June 2008. The company was hosted by the Royal School of Imperial Ballet and performed at the Palaces of the Tsars and the Pushkin International Festival, where 22,000 Russians attended the festivities!
Excursions included the Mariinsky Theatre, home of the Kirov Ballet; Vaganova School and Museum, Hermitage Museum, Pavlovsk Palace, Peterhof Palace; and Catherine Palace, where the group enjoyed a sumptuous garden party Welcome to Russia!. The Ministry of Culture provided English-speaking educational tour guides and sponsored all entrances for dancers and accompanying parents. It was the trip of a lifetime! Matise and Presidio Dance Theatre at the Hermitage State Museum, Saint Petersburg, Russia

Presidio Dance Theatre Welcomes Julia Zharova, Artist and Teacher


Presidio Dance Theatre is pleased to welcome Julia Zharova to our dance company and teaching staff. Julia is from Russia and studied dance at the Moscow Choreographic School. Following graduation, she entered the prestigious Stanislavsky Theatre and performed roles in the ballets of Giselle, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty and others. She toured internationally with the company. As a graduate of Gitis, Julia earned a B.A. in Dance Choreography and classical ballet pedagogy. Her first performance with Presidio Dance Theatre will be in May at the Opera House and Palace of Fine Arts. Julia lives in SF with her husband and 2 year-old daughter.
